The first of which was held in 2010 under two themes, "Mammals— Diversity in Terrestrial Life" and "Mammals—Diversity in Marine Adaptation," and the sequel, "Struggle for Life," in 2019, the themes of this third exhibition are "classification (= dividing)" and "lineage (= connecting)."
This wonder-filled group, named Mammalia (mammals) by Carl von Linné in 1758, was originally classified into 8 orders, 39 genera, and 184 species, but is now divided into 27 orders, 1,332 genera, and more than 6,500 species.
This exhibition introduces the reasons for such classification and the relationship among taxa.
