Feature and Habit
Their body is massive at the anterior portion and taper toward the tail stock. The head is rounded and have indistinct rostrum. They have the characteristic longitudinal depression on the melon. The dorsal fin is high, falcated, and locates in the middle of the body length. The flippers are long and pointed. Their body is light to dark gray with heavy scars. As they grow up, their bodies become white. The flippers, the flukes, the dorsal fin are darker. They have no teeth in the upper jaw and 3-8 teeth in each side of the lower jaw. They inhabit in offshore waters. They are single or in pods of several dolphins and sometime in large pod.
