Feature and Habit |

Ginkgo-toothed beaked whales have a small head and a well-defined beak. The dorsal fin is small and locates rather posterior in position. The flippers are small. They are almost blue gray to dark gray and white scars by cookie-cutter sharks scattered on the ventral side, especially around the genital apeture and the anus. Adult males have scratches bwlievwd to be caused by fighting in breeding season. Only adult males have a pair of teeth located in the lower jaw and barely break the gumline. |
