Feature and Habit |
---|
Clymene dolphins are similar to Spinner dolphins in body shape, but with shorter beak, thekeeled tail stock and complicated color pattern. Especially in the head, they have a long dark stripe extending around the tip of the beak to edge of the melon, and the gray white stripe from that tip of the melon to the blowhole. The dark area of the back does not reach to the tail stock. They have white stripes from the eyes to the flippers and pale stripes from anterior to between the umbilicus and the anus. Each tooth row has 43-58 teeth. They inhabit in offshore waters. They are in small to large pods. |
