Body moderately compressed; snout long, conical; dorsal surface posterior to eye distinctly keeled; caudal peduncle strongly compressed. Nasal organ barely visible without aid of magnification. Interorbital flattened. Dorsal and anal fins slightly rounded; pectoral fin broad and short; caudal fin truncate or slightly rounded. Head and body covered with tiny prickles. Color: Red brown dorsally, white ventrally; sides covered with network of irregular lines; eye with radiating light blue lines; prominent ocellus at base of dorsal fin; dorsal, anal and pectoral fins pale; caudal fin yellow, covered with combination of light blue spots and vertical wavy light blue lines. Remarks: Similar to C. solandri but separated from it by having combination of spots and wavy lines on the caudal fin (vs. only spots in C. solandri). Distribution: Widespread in the tropical Indo-West Pacific, from the Ryukyu Islands, through Indonesia to the Solomon Islands. Bentuk badan agak compress; moncong panjang, membentuk kerucut; permukaan atas belakang sampai mata berduri halus. Batang ekor sangat kompress. Organ nasal kurang terlihat jelas tanpa pertolongan pembesaran. Introrbital datar. Sirip punggung dan sirip dubur membundar; sirip dada lebar dan pendek; sirip ekor truncate atau sedikit membundar. Kepala dan badan tertutup oleh duri yang kecil. Warna: Badan bagian atas berwarna coklat, bagian perut putih; sisi samping badan tertutup dengan garis-garis yang tidak beraturan; mata dengan garis biru terang; occellus terdapat pada dasar sirip punggung; sirip punggung, sirip dubur dan sirip dada pucat; sirip ekor kuning tertutup oleh kombinasi spot biru terang dan garis tegak biru yang berbentuk gelombang. Keterangan: Serupa dengan C. solandri tetapi berbeda karena adanya kombinasi spot dan garis menggelombang pada sirip ekor (vs. hanya spot pada C. solandri). Distribusi: Tersebar luas di daerah tropis Indo-Pasifik Barat, dari Kepulauan Ryukyu, melewati Indonesia sampai Kepulauan Solomon.
