BLENNIIDAE Entomacrodus vermiculatus, 8.5 cm SL (photo by Ukkrit Satapoomin) Entomacrodus vermiculatus (Valenciennes, 1836) D XIII, 15-17; A II, 16-18; P1 I, 4; GR 20+26; V 34-35. Body elongate. Nape with single cirrus on each side. Supraorbital with 2-38 cirri, increasing with growth; main or longest cirrus with many short branches on both mesial and lateral margins. No fleshy blade-like crest on top of head. Central 9 caudal-fin rays branched. Lateral line ending on caudal peduncle posterior to level of last dorsal ray. Color: body with dark brownish vermiculated pattern, becoming more complex with growth; pectoral and pelvic fins variously pale, dark spots and reticulated, depending on size. Size: attaining to about 15 cm. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific, including Madagascar, Andaman Sea and Indonesia. (Hisashi Imamura)
