Body elongate. Orbital and posttemporal cirrus absent. Canine teeth in lower jaw lacking deep groove along anterior surface. Gill opening restricted to side of head. Lateral line absent. Caudal fin lacking branched rays. Color: body, anal fin and proximal dorsal fin light olive-brown; snout orange to yellow-amber; 2 narrow, pale turquoise stripes uniting eyes; dorsal fin with blackish submarginal band; a brown line on middle of caudal peduncle and caudal fin. Size: reaching to 4 cm. Distribution: eastern Indian Ocean, from Maldives to Andaman Sea and Sumatra. (Hisashi Imamura)
