Body elongate. Posterior nostril with a flap posteriorly. Supraorbital with single cirrus. Single occipital crest present in male. Vomer with teeth. Upper lip crenulated at its outer quarter of lower margin; lower lip not crenulated. Gill opening continuous across ventral surface of head. Dorsal fin deeply notched. Several caudal-fin rays branched. Color: body pale to brown with irregular darker spots anteriorly and bands posteriorly; a dark spot on posterior portion of eye: dorsal fin with several oblique brownish bars, these bars continuous basally and distally in several specimens. Size: attaining to about 4 cm. Distribution: Andaman Sea. (Hisashi Imamura)
