Cantherhines pardalis (Rüppell, 1837) Honeycomb Leatherjacket

Dorsal contour of snout slight concave. Males with a brush-like patch of setae on caudal peduncle. Color: body bluish gray with a network of close-set polygonal light yellowish brown spots; head with narrow light yellow stripes; a small white spot on dorsal side of caudal peduncle. Size: maximum 20 cm. Distribution: widely distributed in tropical Indo-West Pacific from East Africa and Red Sea to Marquesas Islands, north to southern Japan. Remarks: occurring solitary in coral reefs.
