Pomacentrus azuremaculatus Allen, 1991 Bluespotted Damsel

Body ovate, compressed. Posterior margin of preopercle serrate. Suborbital naked, with serrate ventral margin. Teeth on jaws biserial, incisor-like. Caudal fin emarginate; no conspicuous projecting spine-like rays at upper and lower edges of caudal-fin base. Color: head and body pale, darkened and tinged with gray dorsally; many blue dots on head behind eye, nape and anterodorsal part of body; fins pale; faint dusky wedge-shaped blotch at upper part of pectoral-fin base. Size: 7.4 cm SL. Distribution: Andaman Sea and Java Sea. Remarks: found in coral reefs.
