Tetraodon nigroviridis Marion de Procè, 1822 Spotted Green Puffer

Body posterior of eye compressed; covered by spinules. Lateral line distinct. Nasal organ a tentacle, at least distal half of which is divided into 2 flattened and broadened lobes. Color: body gray with rounded black dots. Size: 15 cm. Distribution: freshwater systems and brackish water in tropical Asia from Sri Lanka eastward to Indonesia, north to Vietnam. Remarks: toxic.
