Body slender. Supraorbital region with short and broad tentacle. First dorsal fin lower than 2nd dorsal fin. Abdomen lacking scales. Color: body translucent, with black dots; some scales with dark reddish edge forming blotches on body; a series of blackish spots along base of anal fin. Size: attaining to about 2.9 cm, usually less than 2.5 cm. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific, including Ryukyu Islands, Micronesia, Samoa Islands and New Caledonia. Remarks: found on intertidal zones and tidepools of coral reefs.
