Sisik diatas dasar sirip dada membesar dan tepat dibelakang bukaan insang; terdapat lekukan jelas sebelum mata; batang ekor dengan 5 atau 6 deret duri kecil yang menghadap kedepan; badan abu-abu kekuningan sampai coklat, pusat sisik coklat tua atau kehijauan; mencapai ukuran 80 cm. Indo-Pasifik Barat.
