−Ecology of the myxomycetes−

Myxomycetes are organisms that live in damp and shady environments such as those to be found in the forest. They crawl out from fallen leaves or rotten wood when they are ready to form their fruit-bodies which are often only one or two mm high. As they are so small, a careful search is often necessary to find them.
